We started with one bag.
In 2023 a small workshop in Darb al-Ahmar made a leather bag for a friend. A month later, twenty people had asked for one. That's how the shop began.
How we choose
We use every piece ourselves for weeks before adding it. If we don't keep reaching for it, it doesn't make the shop.
Who makes it
The leather comes from a Darb al-Ahmar workshop, the pottery from Tunis village in Fayoum, and the knitwear from a family mill in Mahalla. We visit every workshop at least once a season.
